Permission Errors in SS files?

I've got a custom SSP that calls an SS file to look up a CASE based on the internalID.  This results in an error - "Permission Violation: You need the 'Lists -> Cases' permission to access this page. Please contact your account administrator."".

Can someone explain to me what user/role my code is running under?  How do I add this permission so that my code can execute?
