Add fields to cart item model - Field Sets for SB Denali Checkout / Account

I'm following the instructions from a couple of the doc pages: https://developers.suitecommerce.com/sectionN2659559 - https://developers.suitecommerce.com/section3897425857

I want to add a field to be part of a cart item or 'line'. IE: storedetaileddescription

After adding the field to items_fields_standard_keys or one of the other field sets defined in the backend configuration; I'm not seeing any changes. I don't know if there's supposed to be more steps involved or if there's a different method for SB Denali Account / Checkout apps.

So I need to figure out how to get more fields on item / line models.. If anyone has any experience or can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
