Checkout Abandonment?

in Web Site / E-Commerce

I am at a loss to understand "Checkout abandonment" on my dash board.

On the dashboard it is given as a percentage and if I look at this year the rate is showing as 8.99% whereas last year it was just 3.037%. I cannot understand this as I have four websites and three of them have not been changed in any way and one has implemented the new reference checkout. I don't seem to have any visibility to checkout abandonment by website.

Secondly if I click on the  graph icon I get a graph which seems to go from 0.27 to 1.77 if I select "Monthly" but if I select "yearly" it shows 0 to 2.23. I do not understand the disparity between these two figures.
