KPI Portlet Best Practices

Hi All,

I am having a hard time getting the exact info I need from the KPI's.  I would like to know what my sales are for the month (or any period) minus my returns.  When I use Total Sales (Orders), shipping is included and returns are not included.

So, I don't want that. 

When I use Sales (Orders), shipping is not included and some refunds are included, but one that I did today was not so I don't know if it's a day behind.

We are a phone/web sales company, so the number I want should include all sales orders and invoices without shipping and minus returns.
