Confusion on KPI Scorecards

I have setup a custom tab, and I am trying to setup a custom KPI scorecard to be apart of the dashboard. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around KPIs scorecards and how they work...

SO, I am using 2 searches:

1) Purchase Orders for the Product.
2) Open Order Confirmations for the Product.

I am basically trying to compare the values of the 2 results to show that

My Purchase Orders are greater than my open Order Confirmations of the product.

However, in my KPI Scorecard on my Dashboard simply shows me the names of my searches like this: Search 1 vs Search 2.
