Custom Search Portlet does not show 'Date From' and 'Date To' in filters area

A transaction saved search with 'Date' in the 'Available Filters', when added as a custom search portlet does not show the 'Date From' and 'Date To' in the filters area

But the same saved search when clicked 'Save & Run' or 'Preview' will show the 'Date From' and 'Date To'. The (Custom) Available Selector for the Date in the filter is also available.

How do I make the 'Date From' and 'Date To' filters available in the custom search portlet?
