Contacts for Individual-type Customers

I discovered yesterday, to my surprise, that I am not able to attach Contacts to Individual-type Customers (ITC). NS support confirmed this in v11 and 2007; we're in 2007. This is frustrating because we absolutely could have contacts that are related to a specific ITC, and I want to see these on the ITC's form.

Anyone else?

Apparently Enhancement 130182 covers this, but my search of the user group for that number yielded no results.
