How to use track Customer Referral
We want to be able to reward and track business referred to us from existing customers. We want it to be simple - offering a gift voucher to the referrer and the referred. FYI, the voucher is for use in other stores, not ours - so is not a case of redeeming gift vouchers.
We were thinking of using Promotion Codes or Lead Source - but I am not sure how to relate these to a specific referring customer; we would have to create a code / lead source for each of our existing (thousands of) customers.
Ideally, what we need is a code that is assigned to each existing customer - that the referred prospect can quote to the sales rep (we do not use NS website or do ecommerce in any way).
