cases: can't see columns in case list

Steps
1. go to cases > cases overview
2. under cases choose "edit view"
3. add some fields to the view and save
4. go back to cases > cases overview
Expected result
The fields I added to the view will show in the cases list
Actual result
The fields I added to the view do not show in the cases list. I have tried clicking the "refresh" button, widening the window as far as it goes (I have a dual monitor setup: 24" and 15"), forcing a browser refresh, clearing my cache + restarting my browser.
