Anyone have a code example of creating a search in NetSuite that they can share?

I need to pull out all the messages attached to a case and then create an email with them.   Before I try to figure out NS's API to make it work, it would be great to see some example code that works.  I wish to create and run a search that finds the date, author, and message for each message record attached to a particular case.
