Attaching a contact to a Competitor

It appears that the Competitor area of NetSuite does not allow for adding contacts.  And when I go to create a new contact, the Company field does not pull up any of the Competitors either.  Is there a way to enter a contact and tie it to a competitor?  Even if I have to use custom scripting, that's okay, but I need a way to be able to do this.  Thanks.
