How to pass infromation between form pages

Hello everybody,

I´ve been asked me for a way to create a 3 step sign-in process.

This means they want the customer to go to form 1 and fill in name, phone, email....and then go to form on the redirect page , form 2, and fill in other details.

Now my question: Is there a way to pass on the customer ID from one for to the redirecting form??

Can it be done through the URL or does it require some other script?
