Soltrus and PayPal

edited Dec 4, 2019 4:58PM in General

For Canadian users who are(were) using Soltrus as their processing gateway, you are probably aware that they were bought out by PayPal back in August.

What you may not be aware of, is that while the service is identical (Soltrus was the Canadian supplier of PayFlo Pro and PayLink), the pricing listed on the PayPal site for both Canadian and US users is now considerably lower.

I was paying $90 Canadian for PayFlo Pro, while the PayPal site was advertising the service for $59 US (about $68 - $70 CAD) for both Canadian and US customers.

PayPal "explained" that Soltrus was a reseller version, while PayPal was a direct account. An alternate explanation rec'd later was that they maintained the old pricing to keep the transition "seemless".

Howdy, Stranger!
