Advanced Electronic Payments templates and CitiConnect API

Hello! We are trying to automate our Vendor Bill and Expense Report payment process through Citibank. We have subsidiaries in the US and 18 other countries. We currently have a scripted process for Ireland and the UK that was written by a developer we are no longer able to work with. I am attempting to figure out how to do the same thing using the Electronic Payments and Advanced Electronic Payments bundles (both are installed).

I have a few major questions:
Has anyone successfully used these bundles to create files that conform to Citibank's Citiconnect for Files format?
If so, did you have to use Custom templates to accomplish this, or were you able to use any of the bundled templates?
