Balance Sheet Matrix Report - Carry over balance.

I'm trying to set up a balance sheet matrix report that has each month along the X axis and the accounts down the Y axis.  This is working well, except that the balance in the account for the previous month is not carrying over into the next month - only the transactions for that month seem to be showing up.

Is there any way to display the actual balance for each account as of the end of each month in a single matrix report?
