Changing the size of the Account Description

I was wondering if there is any way to change the length of the account description 6000 - Employee Travel Expenses for example so it doesn't wrap when printing the Financial reports.   I realize that you can change the font but was wondering if there was a way to increase the column width and still use say font 8.
