Accounting Periods - Default view?

Apologies for what is likely a noob level question......

Is there a way to make the expanded timeline view the default visualization for a (revenue) report?  
Rather than opening and viewing as total - then having the user select the option to generate the view to see the results by month/accounting period.....would like that view to be the first thing the user sees.
