Sales Activity

When building a sales activity report, metric is Activity Count, format is summary(i'm just looking for a count), component is Partner, regardless of what field I pick, NOTHING comes up. I've just created a bunch of fake (and already have a bunch of real) Partner related events. When I click on Events and the list of all the Events I just put in are listed, I can click on it, then click on the company name that is hyperlinked, I am taken to a partner that obviously has an Event linked to it. Why does the report not work!?!?
