Comparative Income Statement from Jan-Aug '07 and same range in '08??

I need to do a Comparative Income Statement from Jan - Aug 2007 and compare it to Jan - Aug 2008.  I tried customizing this report but couldn't quite get it.  Can anyone help me set this up?
