Accessing partner records from an online form

Hi,

I'm busy setting up a few online forms which need to search and return some values from the partner record. 

I'm unable to do this as I think that the role assocaited with completing an online form, does not have sufficient permissions to access the partner form.

When an online form is completed, is is the default Customer Centre role that is used?
