Populate contact name on campaign

We've just begun sending email campaigns to our customers.
I can not figure out how to link the customer contact name to the salutation of our newsletter campaign that is emailed out so it is addressed directly to the individual. (see example below) I only get Contact - First Name. Is it something within my search that I have messed up??
