Sending transaction search by email

I have created a transaction search and then used the button next to Export CSV to send an email to myself (employee listed in Netsuite).
I have waited and nothing comes through to my email in MAIL(Mac OS).
Why is that?

Questions:

1. Can I keep MAIL and Netsuite email separate and just use Netsuite email to send out marketing newsletters and reports from Saved Searches?

2. Should I be checking my email in Netsuite?
We are not using Netsuite email and am not sure how to set that up to send and receive mails.
