"Manufacturer" not a DLE column?

Hi everyone.
I have added "Manufacturer" field in item as a column on item search. I cannot DLE, I am using MLI. Is this another field switched off when using MLI...or should I keep checking I have the field enabled correctly on all my searches as I notice if the field is not ticked/active on the "Custom" template then this removes the ability to DLE.

If this also is unavailable, like ROP, PSL etc then is my only workaround export/import or editing each item individually as nothing I can see under mass Updates?

Any comments appreciated.
