Change sales order auto-generated numbers from 10 digits to 5?

edited Jul 4, 2006 5:44PM in Accounting / ERP 5 comments

I don't want to wait on hold with support (GOLD) for 1 hour to get this hopefully simple question answered.
All I want to do is change our Sales Order numbers from a 10 digit auto-generated number to a 5 digit.  I thought I go to SETEP > COMPANY > SET UP AUTO-GENERATED NUMBERS and go to the Transaction tab.  Then I go to the "Sales Order" type.... the Current Number is 3309500290 and I set the initial number to 00001, checked the "Update" box and clicked "Save" and nothing changes.  I go to enter a Sales Order and the number is 3309500291.  How can I shorten my Sales Order numbers?

Howdy, Stranger!
