Price levels and sales orders

I'm experimenting with our price levels for customers and the automatic pricing on a sales order. If I add items one at a time, the sales order does NOT automatically calculate the cost according to the customer's price level. If I add multiple items at one time, it autofills the correct cost with no problem. Am I missing something?
