suddenly and correctly getting email bounces with invalid email address.

If we have an invalid email address in a case or transaction - then all of a sudden we have started getting notified.  This is good - but I didnt even realize it was broken (which is bad).  Can NS shed any light on this ?. was something fixed ?.  If so, its been broken for a while I think.
