Automate Overdue Acct Statement Generation

I was wondering if there was a way to automate the statement generation for overdue accounts? I currently have an alert set up and it generates a list of overdue accounts which I print out. I then go to "generate statements" and manually select the overdue accounts,  then print out a pdf statement from there. Is there a better way to do this?
