Gross Profit by transaction and line item

edited Jul 18, 2007 11:07AM in Accounting / ERP 3 comments

I would like to get an indication of how popular a script, or NetSuite functionality, would be that calculates gross profit on transactions.

Currently we are working on a client side script with NetSuite that calculates:

The Gross Profit of each line item
The total GP of the transaction
Puts these in the "alt. sales amount"

It does this on Opportunities, Estimates, Sales Orders, so that we have an eye to profitability and not just revenue.  I really think it's the proper way to manage a high value transaction and I was a bit surprised when I learned that NetSuite didn't calculate these values by default.

Howdy, Stranger!
