automatically posting memorized invoices

I have a question about automatically posting memorized invoices; my previous bookkeeper set up all of our recurring transactions as "remind me" but I don't know why, when automatic was available.

If I change these memorized transactions from remind me to automatic,

1. does the invoice generated on the date get emailed to the customer?
2. are there any other reasons to not do this?
