Adjusting Inventory Against Committed Items

in Accounting / ERP

Has anyone had an issue performing an inventory adjustment when an item is committed?  We need the ability to scrap products (items) whether they are committed to a sales order or not because there may be a quality issue with the item.  Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
