Credit Card Payments applied to invoices

The majority of our customers pay by credit card. Currently there is no way to apply the credit payment so the invoice to the customer shows a zero balance (currently Netsuite is working on this as an enchancement).  How do other Netsuite users handle this so the customer does not receive an invoice with a balance due.  Thanks.
