Adding a Note to a Sales Order\Invoice Line

Has anyone found a way to add a note to a line on a Sales Order or Invoice?

I often have to bill multiples of the same part number each referencing a different sample and it would be easier for my customer to read if each was entered separately with a note denoting which sample it referred to.
