Charging Against a Contract

What is the easiest way to bill against a customer contract in Netsuite?

We charge some of our customers a monthly maintenance contract.  Then if an item needs to be replaced, we just apply the cost of the item against the contract.  I'm just trying to figure out what will be the cleanest way to track this in Netsuite so that we can determine the profitability of each contract.
