Average per Invoice

Hello,
I am trying to run a report that shows the average transaction (invoice) per customer.  I customized the Sales by Customer Summary report and added a column with Average transaction.  The results view every line of an invoice as a transaction, so I am not getting the results I want.  Does anyone have suggestions how to achieve the results I need?  Thanks!
