Can 'Authorize Return' be disabled on Sales Orders

I do want to use the Return Authorization functionality.  I just want to force it to be done from a Cash Sale, or Invoice, instead of from the Sales Order.  Is it possible to disable the "Authorize Return' button on the Sales Order form?
