Inventory Valuation - Very Wrong

Need help from NS....

Typically at the end of a month we may end up w/ a few (under 5)  parts that have sold out and left us w/ a small (under $3.00) negative or positive value, I am guessing due to all the in/outs of receipts, adjustments and fulfillments....I usually make an adjustment to correct this..no big deal.

This month I have approx 20 parts that the values are completely off for large amounts ($700 per item).  And it goes in both directions...some, I am stock-out w/ large negative values....other I have over 1000 in stock and -$700 value.
