Sorting Auto Generated Purchase Orders

We order over 1000 items from one of our suppliers and need to know if there is a way to sort (hopefully by item class) the items on an auto generated Purchase Order.  When our supplier ships us the items they are sorted and it makes receiving difficult since the items are out of order.
