One time event: process 350,000 Sales Orders

Hi All - we are planning to go live (accounting) in January. We will be loading 350,000 sales orders during the end of December which will have to be processed (Billed) as soon as possilbe after going live. We have run some trial processing by selecting (the maximum) 200 records per screen and submitting them to the job queue. We have also used web services to select about 300 sales orders (average order has 30 lines) which is roughly the maximum we can submit in one job.

It appears that the best processing performance that we have seen is 700 - 1000 transactions per hour. Extrapolating that means that it will probably take 15 days if we can keep the queue populated 24/7 - realistically probably 20 days. Some testing of importing invoices from CSV files produced roughly similar benchmarks.

Howdy, Stranger!
