Recognizing Revenue When Product is Fulfilled
Our company installs home theaters and whole-house audio systems in new homes. Our work is completed in three phases: 1) Prewire, 2) Trim, 3) Activation.
We create a single sales order for each job, then we use progressive invoicing to bill for 65% after we prewire and 35% after we trim. However, the majority of our COGS is in the last phase.
We are trying to use the Revenue Recognition module to match our revenue with our COGS. Is there a means to recognizing revenue when product is fulfilled? Or is there a work around that gets us close to this?
