Income Statement FY2009

We did not set up our 2009 income statement until 1/3/09 and the 3 invoiced sales we did on 1/2/09 are not showing up on the 2009 income statement.

I would think that accounting periods are dynamic, so even though we did not have everything set up by the 1st of the year I should still see the income on this year correct?
