Change Account Type on AR Account?

We're just about to go live on Monday, and we encountered an issue. We have an account in our Chart of Accounts that is typed "Accounts Receivable". We went to use this account on the bill entry screen, but it wasn't available to select. So we went to change the account type to "Other Current Asset", but it won't let us change the account type. We've already migrated a lot of our data to this account and we don't want to lose that information.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way around this?
