Payment Application - Lockbox

Greetings,

Does anybody know how to import a payments file (a CSV file from a lockbox) without needing to enter Customer ID? Frequently our customers do NOT include remittance slips with payments to the lockbox, so we need to be able to upload the payments (and then manually apply the payment to the correct customer account.)
