Question about multi-currency and how it works

in Accounting / ERP

Hi guys, im trying to get my head around this. What im trying to do is give the customer the option on my website to checkout in either USD or CAD. Currently I do have a payment gateway for USD and a separate payment gateway in CAD (both already setup in netsuite). But once the customer goes to the shopping cart and ready to checkout, does netsuite know which gateway to use based on the currency selection? Can netsuite switch between the 2 gateways on the fly?
