getting inactive bank accounts to stop showing up in customer pmt drop-downs

I have made our recently closed bank account inactive, but for some reason it is still appearing as an option in the drop down menu when I accept customer payments. Accounting employees inadvertantly are putting customer money in an inactive account if they are not careful.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to end this? I have tried everything!! Thanks, Beth
