Cash sale receipts - adding text

In our store we use the cash sales and print a receipt on a small thermal printer. It works fine but I have a couple small issues.

#1 How do I get the Sale # to print on the receipt? Can't find that in the Custom PDF Layout or Custom Transaction Form used.

#2 How do I add text to the footer of the printed receipt which I'll use to add terms of sale?
