layaway system - invoices taxable when not paid?
Hello, working on getting my layaway system off paper and into the netsuite. Figured on creating an invoice and then accepting payments towards it. However I don't want to pay taxes on something that I haven't been paid on. So questions:
- If I create an invoice does it then become taxable when I pull the taxable sales report?
- What changes if anything when payments are applied? Are they taxable?
I'd like to pay taxes on the sale only when (if) it becomes a legitimate sale and is paid off. If there is another method using Netsuite I'm open to it also.
