"You must set the frequency to Custom to enter a custom recurrence pattern" - what does this means?

I have these options set up

1. Remind me (ticked)
2. Frequency : Custom
3. Remind forever

and I am trying to set the Custom Recurrence Pattern and I have entered a date in there.

The record wouldn't let me save if I have a date selected in Custom Recurrence Pattern.

I want to have the transaction memorised for
every 1st of the month for 6 months.

How do I set it up?
