Best practise for breaking down bundles

edited Jun 16, 2011 11:39AM in Accounting / ERP 10 comments

Hey all,

Looking for advice on the best way to manage breaking down items of inventory into other items of inventory.

Example:

We buy in a Widget Bundle and sell the Widget Bundle
We also sell a half bundle which is made from breaking down the bundle into 2
When I buy more Widgets, I only want to buy the whole bundles.

Currently, both have their own SKU and inventory. When we need more half bundles, stock adjustments are made (-1 to whole bundle, +2 half bundle).

I am looking for a better way, such as making the half bundles an Assembly, however we haven't ever used assemblies so not 100% sure this would be the best way forward.

Howdy, Stranger!
