Changing GL Account on an Inventory Item
NS'ers,
We are trying to change the asset account for an inventory item. Prior to the 2011.2 release, we were able to do this easily without any impact to prior transactions related to this item. It only affected transactions moving forward.
After the 2011.2 release when we change the asset account it gives us the following error:
"The G/L impact of a transaction in a closed period cannot be changed."
I believe its picking up the fact it wants to "update" all the transactions in prior periods - which we do NOT want.
Does anyone have a workaround for this problem? (besides creating a new item and transferring stock to it OR opening all prior periods)
