COGS and Service for Resale?

Hi All,
I'm setting up a trucking company who sometimes uses Independent Contractors to deliver stuff. The company sells trucking services by the hour, not by trip or other units. How do I get the Resale Service Item to impact an associated COGS account instead of an Expense account?
